The Flash has paid homage to its original 1990 TV incarnation about thrice over by now, but with John Wesley Shipp finally joining the race, it was only a matter of time before things got tricky once more. Looks like Mark Hamill is in on the joke, as fresh set photos reveal the Trickster’s new look in Season 3.

New set photos from Vancouver production (via WhatsFilming) confirm that Luke Skywalker himself, Mark Hamill is back on set for The Flash Season 3, joined by John Wesley Shipp’s Jay Garrick. One wonders if perhaps Hamill’s new look is meant to represent the Trickster of Garrick’s Earth, who looks … well, like another joking role in Hamill’s past.

Hamill has now reprised his ‘90s Flash role in each season of the CW series to date, of course guesting alongside former Barry Allen portrayer John Wesley Shipp in Season 1. Whatever the explanation for Hamill’s new look, Season 3 finally found a way to have Shipp offer back a speedy and fair fight.

It seems likely Hamill’s return is reserved for after the four-way crossover, but check out the latest Flash trailer below, and stay tuned.
