Feature Film About the Oil Industry Set to Begin Shooting in Big Spring and Midland Areas

"The Iron Orchard" is a feature film on the oil industry and will be filmed in the Permian Basin area.

According to YourBasin.com, filming will begin on June 7 in Big Spring and the Hotel Settles, but will also have parts filmed in Midland, San Angelo, Austin, and Ackerly.

Lane Garrison plays the lead role and the film is directed by Ty Roberts and is based on the award winning fiction novel "The Iron Orchard" published in 1967.

The film is going to be presented to various film festivals in the hopes of being picked up and released nationwide.

Filming in the area is planned to wrap up on July 9.
