Dump the Pump Day is June 21, 2018 and EZ Rider in Midland and Odessa are telling you to take the bus that day for all your regular errands or to go to work.

According to NewsWest 9, the day was created by the American Public Transportation Association to encourage people to use public transportation instead of their own vehicle for one day.

EZ Rider is offering free rides for National Dump the Pump Day for the first time ever because they want to encourage drivers to leave their vehicles at home and use public transportation instead.

The APTA says public transportation saves the U.S. 4.2 billion gallons of gas per year as well as reducing carbon emissions by 37 million metric tons.

The APTA also says you can save about $10,000 per year by taking public transportation and living with one less vehicle in your family.

So take the bus tomorrow and see how it can save you money in the long run.
