The parent company over many of the locations in Texas has just filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on Tuesday (October 31, 2017).

According to NBC DFW, the franchisee is named Vasari LLC and oversees over 70 Dairy Queen locations in Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico.

The bankruptcy plan includes the closing of almost 30 locations but the locations in Midland and Odessa are some of the 45 locations that will remain open.

The closest closures to the area are in Hobbs, Denver City, Idalou, and Post.

The company stated that declining sales in some locations and the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey were some of the reasons for filing bankruptcy protection.
