A new law will go into effect Oct. 1, in England and Wales that will outlaw smoking in a vehicle with persons in it under the age of 18. Could this happen in America?

According to Gov.UK, the law will go into effect to help protect young people from the dangers of second-hand smoke.

We've posed this question before. Nearly 18 months ago a colleague shared a scenario that he witnessed while sitting in East Texas traffic that disturbed him. He saw an adult smoking in a vehicle with small children inside, and unable to choose whether they wanted to be there or not.

The results of that poll indicated that nearly 80 percent of voters felt that it should be illegal to smoke in a car with children in it. Now the UK will put that same concept into effect.

Watch the video, and learn how this law will be implemented in England and Wales, then vote on whether you think this law could go into effect in the United States.
