The ever popular 'Paranormal Activity' movie franchise is feared by many, and for the fourth installment, some (including us) have a hard time even watching all the trailers and clips. So just imagine how hard it is for children as young as 5 years old to sit through the film!

In what was one of the cruelest turn of events, an audience filled with little kids at the Cineworld Cinema in Nottingham, England expecting to see a showing of 'Madagascar 3' was instead faced with frightening footage of 'Paranormal Activity 4.'

As expected, viewers couldn't even make it past the first two minutes of the film. "They started playing the movie and I thought -- this doesn't look right," said Natasha Lewis, mother of an 8-year-old boy, in a report. "And then I recognized the opening sequence as a flash back to the first movie, which I saw a couple of years ago."

[SPOILER ALERT] That sequence she's referring to features a bloodied body hurdling towards the screen. As soon as the audience got a load of that, "Everybody just scrambled for the exits, all you could hear were children crying and screaming," she said.

Upon investigation, Cineworld Cinema released this statement:

We have investigated the incident and can confirm that this was a technical error with the projector and apologize sincerely to the families. All customers who were affected by the incident were offered refunds and complimentary tickets. We also invited customers to watch the screening of Madagascar 3 half an hour later. We take matters such as this very seriously and are currently working with technicians to ensure this does not happen again.
