People in a Midland neighborhood are concerned about a black sticky substance showing up in their yards and on their cars this past week.

According to NewsWest 9, residents on Webster street in Midland came home and found the black substance not only in their yards but it had gotten on their cars as well.

The substance is a prime material and is water soluble, similar to a paint primer.

Officials with Reece Albert say it all happened last week with all the heavy rains as they are working on Kentucky Avenue near by, and was not intentionally done.

The company also says the substance is non-toxic.
