Watch ‘Big Brother’ Cast React to Donald Trump’s Win
One of the more insane aspects of the ever-popular, long-running Big Brother reality TV series is that the contestants competing inside of the house are left blissfully unaware of the events happening in the world. (For example, the Celebrity Big Brother house implosion upon learning of David Bowie's death earlier this year.)
This year, the cast of Big Brother: Over The Top missed the U.S. presidential election results in realtime along with the rest of the world.
Whittled down to the final six contestants, the cast gathered for the announcement by host Julie Chen.
“It’s pretty safe to say you are the only six people in the country, maybe in the entire world, who do not know who won," Chen told the anxious housemates. "It's time to find out."
"The next President of the United States will be...Donald Trump. I leave you with that."
"Julie, you're joking," said one contestant.
"No! What? She's joking!" others stammered, mouths agape.
"Gay people, where were you? Minorities, where were you?" exclaimed contestant Jason Roy.
"Women?!" added another.
"That's what I said. The majority of people who typically vote are older, white Republican males," said contestant Danielle Vickey. "I was really hoping that our generation would take their voice and be heard."
