The 2017 Grammy Awards offered some of the most dynamic, engaging live performances ever performed on the awards show stage -- but whose performance rose above all others?

Adele opened the show with a powerful rendition of her 2015 single "Hello," while Beyonce took the stage to deliver an ethereal, show-stopping performance of her Lemonade tracks "Love Drought" and "Sandcastles."

Katy Perry paid homage to Hillary Clinton and Elizabeth Warren with her performance of new single "Chained to the Rhythm," while Anderson .Paak and A Tribe Called Quest were clear highlights of the evening, offering a more overtly political performance with their dynamic, game-changing set.

Bruno Mars stayed true to his reputation as one of the best entertainers in music, and Chance the Rapper made a legitimate case for his Best New Artist win with his stellar performance.

Despite some technical difficulties, Lady Gaga and Metallica fired up the Grammys stage with their joint performance of "Moth Into Flame."

Other acts included Ed Sheeran, Sturgill Simpson and Dap-Kings, Pentatonix, Kelsea Ballerini and Lukas Graham, Gary Clark Jr. and William Bell, John Legend and Cynthia Ervo, The Weeknd and Daft Punk and Marren Morris and Alicia Keys.
