Azealia Banks can't catch a break. The polarizing rapper and singer has been blocked from releasing any new music until spring of next year. In a batch of tweets posted August 6, the 24-year-old artist revealed that due to an issue with her management and label (she is represented by Prospect Park) she will be unable to put out any new tunes until March 2016 at the earliest.

“So prospect park has me for management and Label (stupid azealia, right) now Jeff Kwatinetz no longer wants to manage me BUT… is holding me in my album contract until february 2016,” Banks tweeted on Thursday, adding, “so... there won’t be any new music until March 2016. sorry guys. :( [sic]” See the complete string of tweets, below.

Of course, this wouldn't be the first time Azealia fans would have to wait for new music due to a lengthy album delay. The artist's debut record, Broke With Expensive Taste, was famously delayed for over three years. It was finally released to iTunes on November 7 2014 to generally excellent reviews from music critics.

In-between then and her initial introduction to the public on 2011's New York house-rap anthem "212," Banks made a name for herself musically with a series of well-received EPs and mixtapes. Unfortunately she also entered into (and in some cases, launched) countless feuds with other celebrities and artists, becoming somewhat of a poster child for controversy and often getting herself into trouble with the media and fans alike for making highly controversial statements.

In addition to her upcoming sophomore album, reportedly titled Business & Pleasure, Azealia has also been working on some new mixtapes: Slay-Z, a collection of covers and remixes of Jay Z tracks, and Fantasea II: The Second Wave, a follow up to 2012's Fantasea mixtape. It's yet unknown as to whether Banks' troubles with Prospect Park will also result in a delay of these mixtapes in addition to the album.
