Todd Haynes Follows Two Children Across New York in First Trailer for ‘Wonderstruck’

A new film from Todd Haynes is always something to look forward to. The Carol and Far From Heaven filmmaker has a way of painting some of life’s most quietest moments with an evocative, emotional power. With Wonderstruck, Haynes looks at the world through a child’s eye (or in this case, two children), and the first trailer has finally arrived to give us a taste of what to expect this fall.

Just last night we got our first look at Donald Glover all dressed up as a young Lando Calrissian in the Han Solo movie. Ron Howard shared a little selfie with a shot of Glover on the monitor behind him, and this morning the director revealed another little sneak peak: a trip to Hyperspace.

7 ‘Game of Thrones’ Easter Eggs and Book References You Missed in ‘Dragonstone’

Sunday night’s Game of Thrones season opener was jam-packed with details and storylines, hopping between every major character in one of the most ambitious season premieres in years. The episode – spoilers alert – jumped from Arya-as-Walder-Frey to the a sibling (er, cousin) squabble in Winterfell, took us to more sibling tensions in King’s Landing, caught up with Bran and Meera finally making it to the Wall, then ended on a triumphant homecoming for the Mother of Dragons. You may need to watch Season 7’s “Dragonstone” more than once to catch everything, but just in case you don’t have time for that, we rounded up the best Easter eggs and book references for you, plus a few theories here and there.

Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford Are on the Run in New ‘Blade Runner 2049’ Trailer

The latest trailer for Denis Villeneuve’s Blade Runner 2049 is full of new dialogue and sequences that reveal plenty of new details about the sequel, but even if you watched this trailer on mute it’s a beauty. (But actually don’t watch it with the sound off because Jóhann Jóhannsson’s score is like synth porn for the ears.)

Tim Burton’s Live-Action ‘Dumbo’ Confirms Lead Cast, Plus Release Date Announcement

Tim Burton has officially begun production on his live-action version of Dumbo, the most depressing Disney movie of all time. (Okay, maybe that’s up for debate, but this movie wrecked me as a child.) We’ve heard rumors about the cast for a while now, from Colin Farrell to Danny DeVito and Michael Keaton, and they’re all true! The casting news, along with some plot details and an official release date was announced today during Disney’s live-action panel at the D23 Expo.

The First Trailer for Ava DuVernay’s ‘A Wrinkle in Time’ Is Here and There’s So Much Oprah

We’ve been on the edge of our seats waiting for another look at Ava DuVernay’s A Wrinkle in Time since those photos of Oprah, Reese Witherspoon, and Mindy Kaling in costume dropped earlier this week. You can’t just give us rhinestone-eyebrowed, glittery lip-glossed Oprah and expect us to not ask for more. Luckily the film’s first official trailer arrived today during Disney’s D23 Expo in Anaheim.

2017 Emmys Nominations: 5 Major Snubs and 5 Amazing Surprises

The nominations are in for the 2017 Emmy Awards and there’s just as much to celebrate as there is to be disappointed about. The 2016-2017 TV season was a huge year for the small screen, reaching the peak-iest of peak TV. It was full of more new series than you could keep track of, diverse casts, and many groundbreaking episodes in both the comedy and drama departments. A brief scan of the major categories may leave you feeling a little bummed over the nominations, with many of the usual suspecting making the cut yet again – can the Emmys even exist without Modern Family or Julia Louis-Dreyfus nods at this point? And critical and fan favorites like The Leftovers, Girls, and Legion were nowhere to be seen in the top categories.

Ron Howard Shares Set Photo From His First Day on ‘Han Solo’

Ron Howard is a very capable director who knows how to position a camera and capture a powerful image. But I also have a sneaking suspicion that maybe Ron Howard isn’t great at social media or taking casual phone pics. He seems like the type of dad who accidentally snaps a selfie when attempting to take a shot of a sunset, or butt-Facetimes his family. Just look at his latest Twitter photo.
