Protect Yourself From ‘Porch Theft’

It turns out that there are Grinches out there who would like to ruin Christmas by taking delivered packages off people’s front porches. One billion packages will be delivered in the United States this holiday season. Porch theft happens when thieves steal packages that have been left by a delivery service on someone’s front porch.

Here are some ways to combat porch theft:

• First if you know a package is going to be delivered, have your neighbors watch for the delivery truck.
• Second, leave a note for the delivery truck driver that all packages should be taken to your neighbors house or have your neighbors pick up the package and hold it until you get home.

It’s just a fact of life that thieves take advantage of people at Christmas time, but some simple precautions can keep you from being a victim.
