A Texas girl is suing the Attorney General to get medical marijuana legalized all over the nation.

According to NewsWest 9, Alexis Bortell and her family had to move from Texas to Colorado so she could access medical marijuana which helps with her epilepsy.

Alexis has intractable epilepsy which doesn't respond to traditional medications prescribed to epilepsy patients.

Her pediatrician mentioned to the family that the medical marijuana would be another treatment option outside of invasive brain surgery.

The treatment is helping but because of federal law restricting marijuana use, she is not able to return to her old home in Texas.

Alexis says she hopes the lawsuit gets medical marijuana legalized across the nation and makes it a more normal form of treatment.
